Licensing
What governs the use of Entris and eXact: which documents exist, which one applies to you, and how to get the text before you commit.
Two documents, two moments
Each product is governed by two separate texts, and they do not address the same people. The end-user licence agreement — the EULA — covers the use of the software by the person using it. The licence agreement binds your legal entity to LB IT Cloud.
The first is accepted at the point of use; the second is signed at subscription. Both exist for Entris and for eXact, each in its own version — the texts are not interchangeable between the two products.
The end-user licence agreement
It says what a user may do with the software, what they may not, and within what limits. It is the document that concerns you if you open the console without being the person who signed the agreement.
It is put in front of you at the point where you use the software. Ask for it beforehand, which is the better course if it has to go through a review on your side.
The licence agreement
It is made between your legal entity and LB IT Cloud, and carries what is specific to you: the subscription term, the licensed volume, the authorised data sources, the options taken and the support arrangements. A subscription schedule is annexed to it and holds those values.
The template is the same for every client: what gets negotiated sits in the annexed schedule, not in the articles. Ask for it before you commit rather than at signature — that is when a review on your side still has a point.
The documents, per product
- Entris
- EULA and licence agreement
- eXact
- EULA and licence agreement
- Reselling partners
- Reseller agreement
Resellers
Entris and eXact are distributed by DMI. A partner reselling our products comes under a third document, the reseller agreement, separate from the two above. The resellers page says where to obtain eXact.
The free tools
The free tools and their scripts need neither a EULA nor an agreement: they are used under their published terms of use, which say what you may do with them — including for your clients — and what remains reserved.
